It’s 3:39am and I’m finally finished with all my homework for my Urban and Civic Education class that I must be in by 8:30am this Saturday morning. >< (yes, I’m a little crazy for enrolling in a class that meets on Saturdays…and also a class which I’m not required to take). But anyway, up above is a little diagram I made for the paper and PowerPoint presentation I will be turning in for that class. It’s to assess the project done by a certain high school and to see whether in the end it resulted as service-learning and where exactly in these quadrants it falls. :)
On another note,Yay! After my presentation this morning I will finally be done with that class. This means that I will be done with the following classes by the end of this weekend: LEE 180T, Psychology of Disability, and Economics. This only leaves me with Honor 101 (Emerging Voices Within the Latin Church), Kinesiology, and Portuguese.

I love being on school campuses…

Whenever I visit an elementary school or a high school I get this great feeling. As I walk through the campus or do my observations in the classrooms I see all the students going on about their daily school lives…some in trouble at the principal’s office, others running around at the playground, cheerleaders with hurt legs in the nurses office, kids being silly in the classroom, others heading to the school rally in a straight line behind their teacher…etc.

For me, schools have this certain energy that excites me. I sense a great potential in all the young faces. Whenever I’m on a campus I just want to stay there teaching and learning along with the students. I know for several people school isn’t something they look forward to nor something they would say they love, but for me, I have always loved school. I enjoy going to class everyday, seeing my teachers (if they’re good ones—and thankfully I’ve had so many great ones), interacting with classmates in the process of learning…just being there and learning all these things I don’t know or wouldn’t be motivated to really learn otherwise. Although, like any normal person, I have my moments when I wish I didn’t have to wake up so early to go to class, or didn’t have to do the extensive amount of reading or writing required for a class, or really would have wished a certain lesson wasn’t so boring…

But despite those little things I dislike about school there’s all these other things that have allowed me to love being there everyday….

…and yeah, I’m the kid who had perfect attendance through most of my elementary school education, who only missed one day of middle school due to the one and only time I’ve ever had the flu, and who never missed a single day of high school. I enjoy being there…and I hope that through most of my life I will be able to find myself on a school campus.

School and reading…

I always feel accomplished when I get a lot of homework done in one day. It’s 1am and I am finally done with all the readings I needed done by tomorrow.

Being a Liberal Studies (Education) major is always…interesting…since the subject matter varies so much. I started off reading my economics book and doing an assignment that had to do with creating an economics lesson for 6th graders that tied into the language arts content standards. Then from that I went onto reading my physical education textbook and then to reading my Portuguese textbook. That was followed by downloading documents for Quo Vadis and Tacitus:Annals. Then lastly going back to reading another chapter in the physical education textbook regarding lesson plans. It seems like such a random mix of subject matter…

All I can say is that I’m glad I got a bunch of reading out of the way tonight. It means less stress for the following days. Most of my classes aren’t very stressful so far. The only one that is causing me distress is my Honor 101 class…ugh. I hate classes where the grade is based entirely on very time consuming papers that you must write that will then be graded meticulously. >< Ok, ok…I’ll stop my uninteresting school rambling and go to sleep before I start stressing out more on my Honor 101 class.

:) Friendly interactions

My kinesiology class was canceled today so I began walking all the way back to the other side of campus where my car was located. It was starting to rain pretty hard so I began to walk briskly and so did everyone else (I walk quickly regardless, lol, but today everyone else did too).

Anyway, I had to pause every couple of steps and take off my glasses and wipe them down with my shirt because the water droplets would cover the lense— it made me feel kinda nerdy, haha, oh well. Water droplets and constantly having to wipe down is definitely one of the negatives of deciding to wear glasses instead of contacts to school when it’s raining. I have to remember to keep that in mind.

Well, I was walking down the path near the Education building and I saw this lady holding hands with a little girl and they were walking quickly towards my direction. The lady was gently pulling the little girl along and the little girl had the biggest smile as she was almost jogging to keep up with her mom’s (?)quick pace. (The little girl seemed so happy. I guess she must like the rain or maybe she was excited about wherever she was headed to…or maybe she’s just a very happy and excited child). It was funny because from a distance I could see that the little girl was waving her free hand to nobody the whole time as she jogged forward. So once they got closer to me I decided I would smile and wave back to the little girl (I figured someone should wave back to her eventually :p) When I did so, she got the cutest and biggest smile. It was so sweet and she kept on telling her mom, “She waved back! She waved back!” :) It kinda made my day. Little things like that make me happy…

Little kids are awesome. I always see them on my way back to my car since I park near the Education building and they have some sort of preschool program there. So there’s always random little kids inside or outside the building getting dropped off or picked up.

Writing papers for school stresses me out and I will always complain about them…=_=

Studyyyy

2:11am and 7000+words typed for my notes and organized for my studying purposes…I think I am prepared enough to get an A on this midterm tomorrow, or something close to that.

All I have to say is I don’t mess around even with a runny nose and lack of sleep :)

…but not gonna lie, waking up in 4 hours is gonna suck :/

I was looking at some old school folders from high school that I still have( yes, I keep almost all my school work). Well anyways, this was my English journal folder and…I guess I was hungry hahah…and the whole “turtle, turtle” is so from the Master of Disguise…i still like saying “turtle, turtle”.
I guess some things never change, I still draw on my folders and papers and I still say “turtle, turtle” and I usually want to eat something ><
